On April 13, from 9:30 to 10:30, the meeting “Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions – What are the Key Changes?” will take place. The upcoming changes to the Labor Code will be discussed by Agnieszka Godusławska.

The meeting on “Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions: What Are the Key Changes?” will take place on Thursday, 13 April 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. At the meeting, Agnieszka Godusławska will discuss upcoming changes to the Polish Labour Code.

The meeting will focus on the upcoming Labour Code changes triggered by the Work-Life Balance Directive and the Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions Directive. The meeting is organised by the AmCham HR Committee.

– Employers’ new information obligations

– Amended content of employment contracts

– Probationary employment contracts

– Right to additional employment

– Right to request amendment to the employment contract

– Upcoming changes regarding requirements for termination of employment contracts concluded for a definite period.

 

The meeting will take place in a hybrid formula (live at the AmCham office, 16th floor, Spektrum Tower, ul. Twarda 18, Warsaw, and on the Webex platform).

The Annual Labour Law Conference organized by the International Association of Young Lawyers AIJA will take place on October 13-15.

The main topic of the conference will be resolving employment disputes in a traditional way but also by the means of ADR. Besides resolving employment disputes, further “hot” topics, such as gender discrimination at the workplace, global mobility, employment implications of whistleblowing regimes and how out of office activities affect the employment will be addressed throughout the conference.

Marcin Wujczyk from the employment law practice will take part in the panel: The Employee – Private Life as Private Matter? How in and Out of Office Private Activities Affect the Employment.

The 60th International Congress of Young Lawyers will be held on August 22–27 in Singapore. The theme of the conference will be “The future of the legal profession.”

Marcin Wujczyk will take part in a panel discussion on algorithmic management in the context of labour and migration law.

During the panel, participants will try to answer the following questions:

  • Do companies need to inform and consult with their works council when implementing such technologies?
  • Can employers legally shift part of their employer’s authority to technology, and how can they mitigate the risks of unfair dismissal and discrimination claims when doing so?
  • What about privacy and GDPR issues?
  • And how is employee mobility impacted by automated immigration processes?

The recent debate on the permissibility of sobriety checks in employment relationships is just an example of how many issues involving processing of personal data require detailed analysis.

Dr Marcin Wujczyk will discuss issues related to monitoring of employees for the use of narcotics. Katarzyna Żukowska will also take part in the conference.

The organisers of the event are the Department of Labour Law and Social Policy at Jagiellonian University and the Kraków Bar Association.

Agnieszka Lisiecka and Dr Marcin Wujczyk will discuss the trends and challenges facing employers and HR departments in the near future. They will give their presentations during sessions in Katowice, Kraków and Szczecin (27 and 28 November and 5 December 2019).
