Changes to disability assessments - new rules for people with permanent disabilities

The Ministry of the Family, Labour and Social Policy has proposed amendments to the Regulation of the Minister of the Economy, Labour and Social Policy of 15 July 2003 on disability assessment and the degree of disability, which are intended to reduce the bureaucratic burden for people with permanent illnesses.

The draft regulation provides, among other things, for an extension of the minimum period of validity of certificates - to seven years for persons over 16 with Down syndrome or a rare genetic disease and to three years for children under 16.

The regulation is expected to enter into force 14 days after promulgation.
