Yesterday, the website of the Government’s Legislation Centre published a new draft bill on minimum wages. Its purpose is to implement Directive (EU) 2022/2041 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on adequate minimum wages in the European Union.
On 5 August 2024, a draft regulation of the Council of Ministers on minimum remuneration for work and the minimum hourly rate in 2025 was published on the website of the Government Legislation Centre (RD111).
According to the draft, the minimum wage from 1 January 2025 will be PLN 4,626 gross and the minimum hourly rate will be PLN 30.20 gross.
From 1 July 2024 the minimum wage will increase to PLN 4,300 gross and the minimum hourly rate to PLN 28.10 gross. This is the second change of remuneration in 2024.
The Council of Ministers has adopted a proposal of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy on the level of minimum wage and minimum hourly rate in 2025.
From 1 January 2025, the minimum wage is to be PLN 4,626 gross and minimum hourly rate is to be PLN 30.20 gross.
The minimum wage is currently being addressed by the Social Dialogue Council and a final decision on its level should be made by 15 September 2024.
In order to obtain a work permit for an employee posted to Poland, that person's remuneration must be at least 70% of the current average monthly remuneration in the given province on the date of the application’s submission.
The Ministry of Family and Social Policy has presented a draft regulation on the amount of minimum wage and minimum hourly rate in 2024 (draft number: RD 585).
Once again, two increases in the minimum wage and minimum hourly rate have been proposed:
- from 1 January 2024 the minimum wage will be PLN 4,242 gross, and the minimum hourly rate will be PLN 27.70 gross,
- from 1 July 2024 the minimum wage will be set at PLN 4,300 gross and the minimum hourly rate at PLN 28.10 gross.
