New Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) compensation rates for accidents at work and occupational diseases

From 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2026, new compensation rates will apply to persons who have suffered permanent or long-term impairments to their health as a result of an accident at work or an occupational disease. The amounts of compensation will depend on the degree of this impairment.

According to the latest announcement of the Ministry of the Family, Labour and Social Policy of 28 February 2025 (Monitor Polski 2025, item 222), one-time compensation will amount to PLN 1,636 for each per cent of permanent or long-term harm to health, as well as for each per centage increase in this impairment by at least 10 percentage points.

An insured person who, following an accident at work or an occupational disease, obtains a certificate of total incapacity to work and live independently, will receive compensation of PLN 28,636.

In the event of the death of the insured or recipient of social security, compensation will also be due to entitled family members: the spouse and children of the deceased in the amount of PLN 147,271, and other entitled persons (such as siblings or parents) in the amount of PLN 73,635.
