One month after the reform came into force, we have the first figures from the State Labour Inspectorate (PIP)
According to the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, between 8 July 2026 – the date on which the new powers of the National Labour Inspectorate came into force – and 6 August 2026, a total of 585 complaints were recorded for the incorrect use of civil-law contracts.
During the same period, inspectors issued 76 orders to employers to change the basis of employment from civil-law contracts to employment contracts. In 64 cases, an existing civil-law contract was converted into an employment contract even before a labour inspector had made detailed findings in this regard and implemented legal remedies.
These figures confirm both employees’ awareness of the new regulations and the PIP’s readiness to actively exercise its new powers.
