The Ministry of Health announces expansion of an occupational health examination package
According to the Deputy Minister of Health, a compulsory package of occupational health examinations will already next year be extended to include a cholesterol check, sugar level control and determination of the BMI index, which relates to the prevention of so-called civilisational diseases.
Moreover, an employee should be able to take advantage of additional examinations such as mammography, cytology, PSA (prostate cancer test), lung X-ray or colorectal cancer tests during an occupational medicine examination.
According to initial assumptions, costs of the newly introduced examinations are to be covered by the state, provided that a given clinic to which an employer refers an employee joins the relevant government programme.
