The Ministry of Justice is drafting an amendment to Kamilek’s Law
The amendment is to the Act on Counteracting the Threat of Sexual Crime and the Protection of Minors and is intended to be a response to problems that have occurred in the practice of that which is known as Kamilek’s Law.
The most important of the planned changes are:
- definition of vague concepts such as ‘organiser of activity’,
- reduction of formalities in instances when parents personally take care of children,
- removal of the obligation to double-check the same persons,
- exemption of certain groups from fees for certificates from the National Criminal Register (e.g. volunteers).
The bill has not yet been published.
