The Ministry of Labour proposes changes to the form of documenting occupational health and safety training

A draft amendment to the regulation on OHS training was published in the Government Legislation Center. Under the current applicable rules, an employee confirms the completion of general and job-specific training in writing on the initial training record, which is then kept in the employee’s personnel file.

The proposed amendment is that an employee will be able to confirm the training either in the current applicable written form or in electronic form. In the latter case, the employer will mark in the initial training record that the employee has provided electronic confirmation, and attach the confirmation (or a printout of it) to the record. The initial training record will still be stored in the employee’s personnel file.

The proposed changes would come into force 14 days after promulgation of them.
