The Polish labour market’s share of foreigners
Latest Statistics Poland (GUS) data (published on 14 April 2026), shows that over one million foreigners (1,139,400) were working in Poland at the end of October 2025. Their share of the total active labour force in Poland was therefore 6.9%. This represents a 7.1% increase in foreigners working in Poland (compared to a year earlier).
A significant proportion of foreigners were working under civil-law contracts in Poland – according to Statistics Poland, at the end of last October such individuals numbered 441,300.
Foreigners who were working in October 2025 were from over 150 countries, with the vast majority from Ukraine (67.3%). One in five foreign nationals was living in the metropolitan area of Warsaw (20.2%).
