Wage growth slows down, corporate employment continues to decline
Based on data published by Statistics Poland (GUS) on 23 September:
- The average gross monthly salary in the enterprise sector in August 2026 amounted to PLN 9,259.54, up 5.6% year on year but markedly slower than in July (6.8%). The figure includes not only basic pay but also bonuses, awards, overtime pay and retirement severance payments.
- The purchasing power of wages rose by 2.0% year on year in August, slower than in July, when the increase stood at 3.6%.
