Will mileage allowances soon be available for electric cars too?

The Ministry of Infrastructure has presented a draft new regulation on mileage allowances, i.e. rates per kilometre travelled to compensate for the use of a private passenger car or other private vehicle for business purposes.

The current regulations do not provide for the reimbursement of costs to employees for travel in their own non-combustion engine vehicles. The new regulation aims to change this and include the possibility of compensation for kilometres travelled by hybrid, electric or hydrogen-powered cars.

The rate per kilometre travelled by a hybrid car will depend on the engine power: PLN 0.83 for engines up to 75 kW and PLN 1.10 for more powerful engines. Compensation per kilometre for electric and hydrogen-powered cars will be PLN 0.60.
