Another version of the draft was published last week. According to its authors, the draft is limited to the scope necessary to implement the directive. It does not contain the widely commented-on provision that was previously planned, which would have excluded bonuses, allowances and awards from the minimum wage (meaning that the basic salary alone could not be lower than the minimum wage). However, the indicative reference value of 55 per cent of the forecast average wage has been retained and is intended to serve as a non-binding benchmark in the process of setting the minimum wage.

The provisions are due to come into force 14 days after publication. The government is still working on the draft and it is not known when it will be submitted to the Sejm.
