Universities will confirm data from the employee’s diploma at the employer’s request

On July 7, the Government Legislation Center website published a draft deregulation act that will make it easier for employers to verify the data contained in diplomas submitted by employees

At the request of an employer who has reasonable doubts about the accuracy of the information contained in a diploma presented by an employee, a higher education institution will confirm the authenticity of that information. The employer will be required, among other things, to provide in the request a justification of their legal interest in verifying the employee’s data.

Contact with the university, including submitting the request, will take place electronically using the university’s electronic delivery address. When submitting the request, the employer will have to pay a fee amounting to 1% of the minimum wage (as of the date the request is submitted). The university will have 30 days to provide the information.

The planned amendment to the Higher Education Act would come into force on 1 January 2026.
